	a. wittlin associates - authorized architects s.r.o. (llc) is an architecture, planning and design firm with a solid determination to create original and innovative designs to suit our clients' objectives. The fundamental aim is excellence. We offer a broad range of architectural services from initial conceptual design - design development - permit approvals - construction documentation - tender + on-site construction administration - on up to the finished building for handover. Works include office buildings, special-use architecture (museums, spas, and the like), private homes/ residences, urban design, 'object' design, space planning and interiors. International project experience in Switzerland, Japan, Austria, Germany, France, the U.S.A., and the Czech Republic. International clients include expat individuals and CEOs, corporations, foreign/domestic investors and established-name developers.
	Senior Architect and Principal-in-Charge Ann M. Wittlin is but one of a very few select foreigners admitted into and licensed by the CZECH CHAMBER OF ARCHITECTS (type "A" full authorization) with exclusive privileges to design and build in the Czech Republic. No Czech architect has more qualifications than this. Ann is an American and a graduate of Harvard University - Graduate School of Design (with Distinction 2x). In recognition of design excellence, she has received various awards including a CHICAGO AIA AWARD from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), as well as the ALPHA RHO CHI Medal and other distinctions. Additionally trained as an urban designer, Ann possesses extensive architectural experience in the U.S.A., Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Japan, and the Czech Republic. She has also collaborated and worked with the renowned Swiss architect Peter Zumthor.
	Good architectural design is smart. True architecture has a clarity + confidence that seems to say "I belong here." The aim and philosophy of the design firm is to create an architecture of simplicity + sagacity, which is in keeping with the serious nature of all form-making. Our directive is intense + intelligent in the design of materials/space/light through sensibility, precision, and rigor in the application of professional skills and much-acquired knowledge. 	International Archive of Women in Architecture, IAWA Member of the Board of Advisors Ann Wittlin is priviledged to have been nominated and elected to the Board of this program of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies and the University Libraries at Virginia Tech. The archive seeks to document the international history of women's involvement in architecture by collecting and preserving the professional papers + drawings of women architects, urban designers, theoreticians and women's architectural organizations.
